 Works well and Saves time. Mar 15, 2010
I paid $4.00 for this 12 pack Mineral Absorption Pads. That is less than about 33 cent each. I used the mineral pad which came with my humidifier machine and used white vinegar lengthen the its use. The idea is to use vinegar to dissolve the minerals deposited on the pad and to regenerate it. The original pad eventually broke down after many usages. In my experience, the pad becomes less effective after consecutive vinegar regeneration method.
I were out of a pad and minerals deposited very quickly on the heating element of my humidifier. I had to soak the heating element in vinegar every week for hours to loosen the mineral. When I waited longer than a week, the deposited minerals became extremely tough to remove. There were a lot of scrubbing. These became very time consuming and labor intensive. When the new pad came, I can see a huge difference. I had been using the very first pad from the box. It has been 2-3 weeks and there is minimal deposit on the heating element, though some. 33 cents for saving me hours of scrubbing my machine -- what an excellent time saver.
The pad came bigger than my heating element, so I had to cut it to fit. No big deal. 10 seconds of work. With a 12 piece mineral pads, I expect they will last me through the next two winters.

when I purchased the vicks humidifier, Amazon offered this as the pad for the humidifier. bought it together but it DOESN'T FIT!!!! don't be tempted, just buy the pads separately.

I bought the Honeywell HWM450 humidifier at the beginning of January. I use these and checked if it needed cleaning, and it hasn't been dirty enough to need it. My previous humidifier, that I used without these pads cause I didn't know about them, got much dirtier and needed cleaning much more. (both are warm mist types). The beginning of March was the first time I needed to clean it, before that all I did was replace these pads when they were dirty, about 1-2 weeks, and the first time I didn't even replace it but just washed it clean. That only seems to work one time then the pad starts to buckle and not fit good, but even if I didn't do that they're so cheap, they're worth it. Seeing how they work, I wish I'd ordered more than 1 box of 12. I'll be ordering them again.

We ordered Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier with Auto Shut-Off, and Amazon was offered it as it works whit the humidifier. So we decided to buy it together, but wrong. Amazon get us confused this time. But overall I'm very happy whit Amazon cervices, so we will forgive them.

Bought a Honeywell humidifier last year which they don't seem to make anymore. As a result, I had a difficult time finding these pads locally. Ordered them from Amazon and got them in a timely fashion. The pads do work well though. If you take the pad out of the humidifier once a week and rinse it well, you'll get a longer lifetime from it. Most of the mineral deposits come right out.
